We had to put Callie Lou down yesterday. The barn "guard dog", chief spilled grain gobbler, and Harley's best buddy will be fondly remembered. I missed the sound of her paws thudding down the barn aisle last night, heading for Harley's stall where she'd clean up grain dribbled by our cribber. She's sorely missed this holiday season.

Oh, I am so very sorry. Prayers and hugs to you all there.
ReplyDeleteLisa, I am so sorry to hear. My thoughts are with you and John.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the thoughts--we've all been there before, but it's never any less painful. When I washed her dishes to put away, I didn't put them down cellar this time. Three years was a long time to not have a wiggling dog greet me at the door, and life's too short to miss out. I know there's another dog out there waiting for us.
ReplyDeleteMy dear heart and lover/ faithful friend of Callie Lou. Your heart is torn, as mine is. The hole where Callie lived was, made her only. You were hers andsshe was yours.
ReplyDeleteTake care, she was happy with you and I believe, happier now , waiting for your reunion. ;-) . She was truly a goegeous Rott!!
XO
Thank you for your sincere words to our hearts at my place. Time and our other animals heal us...I get to see my mare tomorrow!
